Deutsche Grammophon’s Romeo and Juliet

Deutsche Grammophon Presents Romeo and Juliet with Album Artwork by Alexandra Grant

Score: Sergei Prokofiev
Music: Los Angeles Philharmonic
Musical Director: Gustavo Dudamel

Studio Alexandra Grant is pleased to announce that Grant’s artwork Bounty, 2022 is featured as the album cover of Deutsche Grammophon’s latest album, Romeo and Juliet. Released on February 13, 2026, Romeo and Juliet is the first of two albums that will be released by Deutsche Grammophon, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel. The albums will feature the works of Prokofiev and Grant’s artwork to celebrate Dudamel’s final season as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

This digital album, recorded live at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, features the complete orchestral music from Prokofiev’s bold and evocative ballet score Romeo and Juliet. Created in collaboration with the LA Dance Project and its artistic director, Benjamin Millepied, the innovative production combined live orchestral performance with choreographed scenes, sometimes on stage in the auditorium, sometimes projected live on screen as the story played out elsewhere in the building. The innovative production was a critical success, and Dudamel was praised for his “full-throttle, rhythmically vital interpretation” (The New Yorker).
